Product description
The Beaucarnea recurvata, commonly known as the ponytail palm or elephant foot plant, is a striking indoor plant with a distinctive swollen base at the bottom of its trunk. This bulbous base stores water, allowing the plant to tolerate dry conditions with ease. Long, narrow, dark green leaves arch and curl gracefully from the top of the trunk, giving the plant an elegant, sculptural appearance. This specimen stands 25 cm tall and comes in a 12 cm diameter pot.
The Beaucarnea recurvata is a slow-growing, architecturally shaped plant that brings a natural focal point to any interior setting.
Use & position
This indoor plant suits a wide range of business environments, including offices, reception areas, meeting rooms, hotel lobbies, and retail spaces. Place it on a bright spot with indirect sunlight; direct sun can scorch the leaves. It is well suited to indoor use and works particularly well near windows that receive filtered light throughout the day.
If you are looking for similarly easy-care indoor plants with a bold silhouette, consider the Yucca Elephantipes branched indoor plant in plant basket as a complementary option for larger spaces.
Care
The Beaucarnea recurvata requires very little water. Allow the compost to dry out completely before watering, which typically means watering approximately once every two weeks. The swollen trunk base naturally reserves moisture, so overwatering is a greater risk than underwatering.
Keep the plant in a bright indoor position with indirect light to maintain healthy leaf growth and avoid leaf burn.
